Weekend

Since the procedure on Friday, Cindy’s health has improved on a small scale. Her pain level (1-10) descended after the procedure due to better drug timing. Her “billy Rubin” level has gone from approximately 10 to around 7 on Saturday. It later became about 6.5.

On Sunday, the doctors put a needle in Cindy to remove some of the fluid in her stomach area. Her belly is not as bloated due to that. Still cautious of the Colin, they were nervous that the needle would damage it if they took more fluid. At one point they observed blood and imagined the worst: that they has hurt the colon. Yet soon after that scare an x-ray machine was rushed in and proved that nothing has gone wrong.

Cindy later received a blood transfusion because the Billy Rubin level in her blood is abnormally high (red blood cell issue too). She says that she feels a little better but the nurse assured us that after the second there would be a large difference in the amount of pain.

Sadly, we all feel that Cindy needs the extra care that she is receiving at B&W so we haven’t decided on when she is to come home. It’s a slow road but we’re inching closer to chemo every day.
